Tottenham are hoping that Harry Kane’s new contract triggers a domino effect with Dele Alli the next senior star to pen a contract worth in the region of £100,000-a-week, according to the London Evening Standard.

The capital based newspaper claim that the 22-year-old will be following in the footsteps of fellow team mates Kane and Davinson Sanchez, as well as manager Mauricio Pochettino, imminently, in putting pen to paper over a new deal, with a host of other names also set to commit their futures to the club.

It is stated that Dele will be handed a wage increase of £40,000-a-week from his current £60,000-a-week deal, despite still having a number of years left on a six-year contract penned back in 2016.

Opinion

Spurs need to keep the core of their side together if they want to push on and be the success that they want to be, and in sealing deals for Sanchez, Kane and Dele Alli, not to mention the man in the dugout Pochettino, they have made a great start to summer. Alli might not have hit the heights last season as he did two years ago but he was still a crucial part of the first team and put in some dazzling displays to put the opposition to the sword. There will be hopes he can continue his rise from young starlet to senior hero and that he can be one of the many men to lead the club to glory after a decade without silverware. With the likes of Christian Eriksen and Son-Heung Min touted to continue the surge of new contracts, it promises to be an exciting couple of years for the Lilywhites.
