New Everton manager Marco Silva would be pulling off an absolute masterstroke if he could land Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish this summer.

The Villans, according to the Daily Mail, are considering the sale of the 22-year-old midfield maestro due to the fact that they have to meet Financial Fair Play restrictions

With Leicester City and West Ham also reportedly in the hunt for the player, the Toffees have their work cut out to sign the player, who if sold, could go some of the way to improving the financial crisis that Villa are facing in light of their inability to make it back into the Premier League.

With discord in the dressing room, managers in and out at regular intervals, and a toxic fan atmosphere at Goodison Park, the Blues are not the most attractive of options at the moment and the idea of joining the Foxes – which is closer to home than either the Hammers or the Toffees – might appeal to Grealish more.

The attacking midfielder is the kind of player fans would be desperate to grace their team – so tired are they of witnessing negative football, the creative 22-year-old would be an instant hit on Merseyside.

His ability to carry the ball with exceptional close control, as well as the technique and vision to dictate play with to his team mates would bring a positive style of football to Merseyside, plus his hot-headed temperament would bring a little fire to a subdued Everton side.

Silva may well have his work cut out if he going to come out with the prize on this one and if the Portuguese supremo wants to make himself an instant hit, then grabbing Grealish will certainly do it.
