Everton have begun talks with Hannover 96 for the transfer of their striker Niclas Füllkrug, according to Get German Football News.

The German football website reports that talks have begun over the possible transfer of the 26-year-old forward from the German outfit – who finished 13th in the Bundesliga last season – and an offer worth up to £19.3million has been made by an “intermediary” who represents the Merseysiders.

Hannover are looking for a higher offer for their prized asset, who scored 16 goals in all competitions in the last campaign. However, they now seek confirmation from Everton as to whether the intermediary is able to make an increased official offer on the club’s behalf.

Good move for Everton?

Despite finishing 13th in the Bundesliga in the 2017/2018 campaign, the 6″2 (source: Transfermarkt) goal machine netted an impressive 16 goals in 36 appearances for his club.

This is a statistic that would thoroughly impress boss Marco Silva, with the Toffees needing a talisman who they can rely on to score important goals.

Füllkrug has proved that he has an eye for goal, and with Wayne Rooney most likely moving to DC United, he is just what Everton need to get them firing again.

Likely to happen?

Hannover 96 are seeking a higher offer from the Toffees, and they would most certainly have to comply with that if they want to land this prolific striker.

It is surprising that there has been no news of any other clubs sniffing around Füllkrug, especially with his outstanding goal tally – however, this will work in Everton’s favour, as they will have no competition to sign him.

Everton just need to give the German club what they want for their dangerous centre-forward and a move will likely be on the cards soon.
