Unai Emery has made his second signing as the new Arsenal manager, this time bringing in former PSG midfielder Yacine Adli after terms were agreed between the club and the teenager, reports Goal.

Emery, who managed PSG before moving to London, managed to persuade the 17-year-old prospect to join the Gunners, meaning that Arsenal only had to pay PSG a six-figure compensation fee of £223,000.

Adli is highly thought of in France and was handed his PSG first team debut by Emery himself; however, since Emery’s departure from Paris, a contract offer was not enough to keep the promising player in the French capital, and he will join up with Arsenal on a reported three year deal, with the option of a further two.

It is understood that the official announcement of Adli will come in the following days.

OPINION

It remains to be seen if this is going to be a good move for Arsenal. Adli certainly looks a promising talent, but it is unknown how much first-team football he will receive at the Emirates, with an already talented attacking set of players amongst the ranks. It is likely that this is a long-term plan, and with a view to a possible loan deal for the 17-year-old that could be beneficial to both parties, as Adli will need to be obtaining meaningful first-team football somewhere, whether it be at Arsenal or away on loan. Emery certainly has his faith in the young Frenchman, who is rising through the ranks in the French national youth-team setup, scoring 13 goals over his 23 appearances. The player certainly has a lot of potential, and it must be exciting for Gunners fans that their new boss is investing in youth for the future, instead of bringing in the usual suspects. Adli certainly looks like one for the future.
