Hull City defender Moses Odubajo has been pictured with Celtic’s head of recruitment Lee Congerton on their pre-season trip to Austria ahead of a potential transfer swoop this summer.

The Daily Record published photos of the pair during the Hoops’ overseas training expedition, with the 24-year-old set to seek a new club as his contract with the Tigers comes to an end at the end of June, the Hull Daily Mail claiming he has rejected a contract at the club.

The right back has suffered a nightmare two years with the Championship side, suffering a significant knee injury which has limited his playing time, his last appearance coming in May 2016 with the injury blow coming that July.

Good move for Celtic?

Right back has been one area of issue for the Hoops and it is no surprise to see them looking for some new recruits this summer.

Odubajo has a severe lack of game time in recent years and his appearance with the Celtic squad in Austria will no doubt be a chance for Brendan Rodgers to run the rule and decide whether he is worthy of a place at Parkhead next season.

If he has fully recovered from his injuries, then it could be a brilliant free swoop, but there can be no risks taken, and any doubts should see them back out of a move.

Likely to happen?

The fact he is already out with the Hoops in Austria suggests this one could be close, and that the final stage is for him to prove his fitness and ability.

This could all come down to the medical, and it will likely be a thorough examination after his recent history on the sidelines.
