Celtic have had several outstanding performers this season and near the top of that list is attacker James Forrest.

The right-winger has had a storming season for the Bhoys and is on course for back-to-back domestic trebles.

He is a product of the club’s academy and this season has arguably been his best at Parkhead since he made his debut in the 2009/10 campaign.

Forrest has naturally developed into a more rounded player as he gets older, but a lot of the credit has to fall at the door of Brendan Rodgers.

The Celtic manager has played an absolute blinder with the right-winger and his development under him in the last two years has been staggering.

Forrest managed just two goals and two assists in the 2015/16 campaign before Rodgers arrived at the Scottish giants.

However, he has managed to find a more clinical edge since his appointment and become a mainstay in the starting XI.

The Scotland international managed eight goals and 13 assists last season to show his progress, but has gone even further this year.

He is currently at a tally of 17 goals and 10 assists in all competitions, something that helped him to be nominated for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award.

Forrest’s goals have dried up slightly in the second half of the campaign, but he remains a live wire on the right flank and has a tremendous work-rate installed in him by the manager.

He has completely brought into the methods of Rodgers and there is no reason why his numbers can’t continue to grow moving into next season.
