Jacob Murphy lasted just 53 minutes in the away defeat to Watford at the weekend – and Newcastle United fans on Twitter annihilated him for his performance.
The 23-year-old attacker has been a fringe man for much of the campaign, but got the opportunity to impress when promoted to the starting XI in the Premier League.
He struggled to create much as the right-winger and was taken off shortly into the second-half.
The Magpies ended up on the receiving end of a 2-1 scoreline, with two goals in the first-half from Roberto Pereyra and Andre Gray securing the three points for the hosts.
Ayoze Perez scored his eighth goal of the season for the visitors, but ultimately his team suffered a third consecutive league defeat and will be relieved their top-flight status is already secured.
Newcastle fans on social media decided to vent their anger at right-winger Murphy and feel he seriously struggled to make a serious impact on the match.
The English speedster has found it tough going since his move to St James’ Park from Norwich City last summer.
He still has just one goal under his belt for his new team and one furious supporter labelled him “pathetic”.
