A claim that Champions League holders Real Madrid have named Christian Eriksen as their top target to replace Luka Modric in the future has got the Tottenham faithful fuming on social media.
Spanish newspaper Marca has reported that the La Liga giants, who picked up their third successive European Cup, are plotting for the coming years and see the Croatian maestro as a player who needs a successor sooner rather than later.
It is stated that the top choice to take the place of the 32-year-old is Tottenham’s Danish playmaker, in a move which will mirror Modric’s move from north London to the Spanish capital back in 2013.
However, even though is is said that any move will not take place for a couple of years, the Spurs supporters have been left raging at Real lining up their star man for an exit, with one fan suggesting that he should have a fee of around £200million placed on his head after his 226 appearances for the club.
