Liverpool have tabled a bid for AC Milan and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish news outlet claims that Jurgen Klopp is waging a “dirty war” against Real Madrid ahead of their Champions League final in Kiev on Saturday night for the Italy international with Zinedine Zidane also interested in signing him.

It is understood that Klopp has made the goalkeeper, who according to Sky Sports earns £100,000-a-week at the San Siro, his number one target for the summer transfer window as he aims to improve his options between the sticks.

Good move for Liverpool?

Donnarumma is already one of the best goalkeepers in European football – and he is only 19-years-old.

Moving to the Premier League would probably be tough for someone like him to start with, like it was with David De Gea when he first joined Manchester United, bu the AC Milan shot-stopper could easily become one of the greatest shot-stoppers to ever play for Liverpool if Klopp snapped him up.

Don Balon claims that Donnarumma is valued at £43.7million, which is a massive fee for the Reds, but definitely one that they should spend when Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet must be improved upon.

Likely to happen?

It seems a bit odd that the Spanish news outlet has come out with this “dirty war” line ahead of the Champions League final, like Klopp bidding for a Real Madrid transfer target would make any sense in the final.

Liverpool will surely be interested in the teenage sensation, but will they really be making an offer now just to try and ruffle a few feathers?

Donnarumma will more than likely be on the move in the future, but it doesn’t seem likely that he will be off to Anfield this summer.
