Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce believes that Jack Grealish “could play for any team” in a huge statement from the Villa boss ahead of their play off final battle against Fulham at Wembley on Saturday.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been in dazzling form for the Birmingham outfit since Christmas where he was integral as the team marched to second in the table and for a brief spell, looked as though they might threaten Wolves.

However, another injury setback for the Birmingham-born ace, saw the Villans stumble and they eventually ended the season in fourth place.

Speaking on the talkSPORT Alan Brazil breakfast show broadcast on Tuesday at 6am, Bruce waxed lyrical about his midfielder and said: “I believe Jack Grealish could play for any team.

“Since Christmas, he’s been nothing short of terrific.

“He’s a talent. He’s got that natural ability.”

Meanwhile, the manager revealed concerning news about Ahmed Elmohamady, who he admitted was the one player he had a real doubt over for the Championship play off final.

OPINION:

There can be no doubting that Grealish has had the best season of his career so far and after looking as though he might not live up to the hype, he is starting to do that now.

It was no surprise to see the 22-year-old linked with a move to Leicester City back in April and as long as his attitude is spot-on and he can stave off injuries, the midfielder could play for the majority of sides in the top flight – and there may well be many chasing his capture.

Eight assists and three goals in 33 outings for Bruce’s side are the reason why Grealish is rightly earning plaudits from his boss but if he can add more goals to his game then Villa would have a real job on their hands of retaining the player’s services.

Guile, class, and an uncanny ability to spot a pass where no others would, set the attacker apart from others.
