Everton’s new director of football has the opportunity to completely revamp the Toffees transfer tactics this summer, starting with the capture of reported target Josha Vagnomen, as is being reported by ESPN.

The Blues are renowned, not least by their own fanbase, to opt for players who can give them stability and who are above anything else, greatly experienced.

You only have to look at the signings of Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson last summer to see that they hadn’t moved too far away from the safety zone when they snapped up the former Manchester United and Swansea men.

With Steve Walsh in charge of transfers at Goodison, rumours circled around players like Jamie Vardy and Phil Jones – both older and experienced.

But for once, in Vagnomen, the young German youth international is a refreshing break from the norm, and proves that the Toffees are on the verge of a game-changing transformation.

At 17, he offers everything supporters would be keen on and would represent a move away from the club’s usual transfer strategy.

It would be fair to say that Brands has an eye for a player, as was seen throughout his time in the Dutch Eredivisie with AZ Alkmaar and PSV Eindhoven.

Mousa Dembele, Dries Mertens, Kevin Strootman and Gini Wijnaldum were all players Everton’s new director of football had a hand in recruiting.

These are potentially exciting times ahead for the Blues, which can be increased all the more with the signing of Vagnomen although they will reportedly have to see off Chelsea and Arsenal first though.
