Tottenham need to consider investing in a new centre-back during the summer, with the future of Toby Alderweireld still very much up in the air.

Spurs have found success with Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez at the heart of their defence recently, but certainly need more senior options going into the next campaign.

One name that has to crop up on their radar is rising Leicester City star Harry Maguire.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant season for the Foxes in defence and that has helped him become a regular for Gareth Southgate’s England team.

The Daily Mirror reports that Manchester United have been impressed by the centre-back and are lining up a summer swoop for the £35million-rated player.

It is understood that Jose Mourinho has been impressed by the English powerhouse, who is also renowned for his ball-playing ability.

However, Spurs must hijack the interest at the end of the season and try to add him to their ranks.

Maguire has proven he can be immense in the Premier League on his day and appears to have all the traits to play for a top-six club.

He would also be the perfect for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino due to his quality on the ball, while he can also be deployed comfortably in either a back three or back four.

Maguire is entering the peak years of his career and should be the latest England international to become a Spurs first teamer.
