Leeds United are eyeing a summer raid for Barnsley trio Oliver McBurnie, Joe Williams and Andy Yiadom, according to a reliable journalist.

Alan Nixon, who is a sports writer for the Sun, has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the Whites are planning a move for three players at their Yorkshire rivals.

McBurnie is currently on loan at Oakwell from Premier League outfit Swansea City and the attacker has impressed with eight goals in just 13 appearances.

Meanwhile, Williams is a defensive midfielder on loan at Barnsley from Everton and has been an ever-present in the side all season.

Yiadom is an attack-minded right-back, but his contract with Barnsley is due to expire in the summer.

Good move for Leeds?

Leeds manager Paul Heckingbottom looks set to raid his former club Barnsley, but the fact that two players are only on loan should make any potential deals easier.

McBurnie is definitely the standout pick of those players and the 21-year-old has proven since his January switch he can tear apart the Championship.

He should be the priority out of the trio to try sign in January, but some Whites fans will question why they are planning a raid on a team fighting Championship relegation.

Likely to happen?

McBurnie and Yiadom are both out of contract at the end of the season with their respective clubs, which is why there is a possibility at least a couple could end up at Elland Road.

Williams’ exit is more likely to be on a loan basis, but Leeds can be expected to be very busy in the summer after a mediocre season.
