Rangers have formally suspended senior duo Kenny Miller and Lee Wallace after an incident following their 4-0 loss to Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-finals, and fans have taken to Twitter to rip into the club.

As announced on the club’s official website, both players have been suspended pending an investigation into events, with the club refusing to make any more comments on the situation until the investigation is complete.

Rangers endured an embarrassing afternoon at Hampden Park on Sunday at Celtic steamrolled past them to reach the Scottish Cup final and stay on course for a historic ‘double treble.’

First-half goals from Tom Rogic and Callum McGregor set them on their way before Ross McCrorie was sent off and conceded a penalty early in the second-half, which was converted coolly by Moussa Dembele, with Olivier Ntcham completing the rout.

Rangers players seen arguing on the pitch after the final whistle while Daniel Candeias and Andy Halliday were both involved in altercations on the sidelines during the game.

As reported by the BBC, Miller and Wallace are said to have rounded on manager Graeme Murty in the dressing room following the match, with an angry exchange taking place.

Fans have now taken to Twitter to slam the club for their decision to suspend the senior duo, with many calling for Murty to be sacked while others were lamenting how embarrassing the situation is.
