Celtic romped to a 5-0 win over bitter rivals Rangers to secure a seventh-successive Premiership title on Sunday, and fans have taken to Twitter to call for the club to sign striker Odsonne Edouard on a permanent deal.

The Paris Saint-Germain loanee started the match for the Hoops in place of the injured Moussa Dembele, and impressed throughout with two goals and an assist.

The 20-year-old opened the scoring after just 13 minutes when Kieran Tierney romped down the left before slamming a pinpoint cross into the box which he turned home.

Edouard then scored his second of the match and doubled Celtic’s lead five minutes before half-time, with the Frenchman receiving the ball just past halfway before running at Russell Martin and guiding a low shot inside the far post.

James Forrest made it three before the break for the Hoops before Tom Rogic scored just after half-time to put the result beyond any doubt.

Edouard then turned provider for their final goal of the match, running at James Tavernier before getting to the byline and feeding Callum McGregor to slot home.

Fans have taken to Twitter after the match to rave about his display, with many calling for the club to sign him permanently this summer.
