Wolves are reportedly lining up a move to sign defender Craig Dawson from bitter rivals West Brom, but should consider another one of their players.

The Daily Mirror reports that Wolves, Burnley and West Ham are all eyeing the versatile defender Dawson, who can comfortable play at either centre-back or full-back.

It is understood that Premier League strugglers West Brom, who are on the verge of relegation, are bracing themselves for bids in the summer for the 27-year-old.

Dawson is a fairly decent defender that can do a job in the top flight and provide a good option in the squad at Molineux next season, as they prepare themselves back in the Premier League after winning the Championship title.

However, if Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are going to raid their main rivals then they should turn their attention elsewhere.

The Daily Mirror reports that there is set to be a mad scramble on for the signature of defender Jonny Evans when the Baggies are confirmed.

He has a realise clause of just £3million that may be activated and that has seen the likes of West Ham, Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Leicester and Everton all interested in him.

Wolves should push to the front of the queue for the 30-year-old centre-back and try to bring him to help with life back in the top flight.

The Northern Ireland international is a far better overall defender than Dawson and his cut-price fee makes him an absolute steal.

They should try blow their rivals out of the water to land him and his Premier League experience would be a massive boost to the club.
