West Ham goalkeeper Adrian will force his exit from the club in the summer if David Moyes stays on as manager, according to The Sun.

The newspaper claim that the 6ft 2in shot-stopper has grown disillusioned at the Hammers after being relegated to being the number two keeper behind Joe Hart this season.

The Sun report that Adrian is keen to stay in England with one unnamed club already being alerted to his situation.

Adrian has featured 18 times for the Hammers this season, conceding 26 goals, while keeping six clean sheets in his outings.

It is believed that Hart, who is on loan at the London Stadium until the end of season, keeping his place in the team despite making mistakes against Burnley and Stoke City, could affect Adrian’s decision.

However The Sun’s report claims the goalkeeper’s decision rests on Moyes being at the club next season.

The newspaper states that the experienced manager currently only has a contract until the end of the season when talks will take place about signing a longer term deal.

Adrian is set to replace Hart in goal for the Hammers against Manchester City on Sunday, as the England international is ineligible to feature in the game against his parent club.

OPINION

Adrian is only contracted to stay at the Hammers until 2019, so the club will no doubt allow him to exit the club in the summer. The Hammers will be able to pick up a transfer fee for a player they hardly use, and one who is reportedly disillusioned at the club. It’s understandable that Adrian is frustrated as after spending five-years at the Hammers, the arrival of Hart was a bit disrespectful. However the Spanish goalkeeper did prove he made just as many blunders as his fellow keeper whenever he stepped in to replace Hart this season. It’s good to hear that there is no animosity between the two players, according to The Sun’s report, as with the club facing a relegation battle it’s the last thing the Hammers need. If two players were constantly bickering it would create a disharmonious dressing room.
