Manchester United fans on social media exploded with joy when they saw what the official FA Cup twitter account had posted following their side’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham.

Man United defeated Spurs at Wembley on Saturday in the FA Cup semi-final in order to continue their quest to lift a trophy this season.

While Jose Mourinho’s side would have pleased supporters with their performance and ability to get a result against Spurs, fans were even happier when seeing an official tweet by the FA.

The official Twitter account of the FA Cup appeared to mock Spurs’ centre-forward Harry Kane by posting a tweet that joked that he spent Saturday’s game in Man United defender Chris Smalling’s pocket.

It was a bizarre tweet for an official account to post especially as it was mocking Kane who is practically certain to feature for England at the World Cup in the summer.

While several fans responded to question the tweet, Manchester United supporters lapped up the FA’s decision to post their joke about Kane.

One Man United fan tweeted to claim that it was the tweet of the year, while another urged the account never to delete their post.
