Celtic travel to Old Firm rivals Rangers on Sunday for a crucial Scottish Premiership clash and manager Brendan Rodgers must promote centre-forward Odsonne Edouard to the starting XI.

The 20-year-old must be unleashed at Ibrox at the weekend and he has the quality to rip apart the Gers defence, which continues to be a weakness for them despite looking dangerous offensively.

Celtic know that a defeat against the Light Blues will leave them with just a three-point gap at the of the league and set up a tense title race in the remainder of the campaign.

However, the Bhoys have the firepower to exploit Rangers’ defence and that is why Rodgers must field an attack minded side with a positive intent.

Edouard has not been a regular starter this campaign and mainly been deployed as a substitute, but there are signs in recent weeks that he is really settling at Parkhead.

The Frenchman should be promoted to the starting line up alongside Moussa Dembele and the pair would run the Rangers defenders ragged.

He has scored seven goals in 22 appearances this season, which is impressive given his amount of game time.

Edouard holds the ball up well with his physical strength and his directness should cause carnage in the Old Firm clash.

The centre-forward is due a run of starts after his impressive cameos and the weekend would be a great place to start.
