Mile Jedinak completed 90 minutes in the surprise home defeat to QPR on Tuesday night – and Aston Villa fans on Twitter ripped into him for his performance.

The Midlands giants slipped to a 3-1 loss at home as they were dealt a massive blow in the race for automatic promotion.

Steve Bruce’s side found themselves two goals down at the break as Ryan Manning’s header and a Jack Bidwell goal put the visitors in front.

QPR then stretched their lead even further through Luke Freeman in the second period, while defender James Chester netted a consolation as he continues his good form in front of goal.

The result means Villa remain third in the league table, but wins for Wolves and Cardiff on Tuesday night mean they are now seven points adrift of the top two.

They were expected to build on their 4-1 win over Cardiff at the weekend, but slipped up against 15th-placed QPR.

Villa fans on social media decided to take out their frustration with Jedinak as they feel he was a major weak link.

The 33-year-old central midfielder played another full game in the space of three days and some supporters have suggested the Australian needed a rest.
