Tottenham centre-forward Harry Kane is expected to miss at least a month through injury, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims that the 24-year-old is in line to miss at least a month with the ankle injury he sustained against Bournemouth on 11 March.

It is understood the England international was due to have a scan on Tuesday, but that has been put on hold until the swelling on his foot reduces.

Kane would miss Swansea in the FA Cup at the weekend, plus league games against Chelsea and Stoke if the reported one month time frame was correct.

The North London club face champions-elect Manchester City on 14 April and that match is scheduled for more than a month on from Bournemouth.

The Daily Mirror reported on Tuesday that Kane was set to be sidelined until May, leaving him in a race to be fit for the World Cup.

However, the Sun’s latest update suggests his injury is not too severe as the fans continue to face an anxious wait on confirmed news.

OPINION

The international break appears to be coming at a good time for Spurs as it should mean Kane misses less fixtures through injury. There is still no official update on the centre-forward and England supporters as well as Spurs fans are growing restless. He has scored 35 goals in 39 appearances this season and is going to be a massive loss for however long he is sidelined. Spurs look set to be without him at the weekend for the cup clash against Swansea and this fixture has now become absolutely crucial for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. In-form attacker Heung-Min Son should still give Spurs a serious threat in the final third against Swansea and is playing with a lot of confidence right now.
