Tottenham are prepared to make a mammoth £40million bid for Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims that Spurs are set to reignite their interest in the 25-year-old at the end of the season and that he could well leave Selhurst Park.

It is understood that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have fake in the past with both £12million and £21million offers for the lightning quick winger.

The report details that Spurs are now eyeing a new attempt to sign the Ivory Coast international, whose current deal is worth around £100,000-a-week.

A £40million bid is being lined up by Spurs for Zaha, but their London rivals are likely to argue that he is worth much more.

He has played a huge role in their fight against relegation and remarkably Palace have lost all nine league games that Zaha has missed this season through injury.

Good move for Spurs?

Zaha has proven he is one of the best players outside of the top six clubs in the Premier League and looks good enough to make the step up.

However, Spurs would be taking a big risk at £40million for a wide man that failed to really cut the grade at Manchester United in the past.

He is a fleet-footed winger that can go past defenders with ease and Mauricio Pochettino would be able to help him improve his end product.

Spurs do already have an overload of quality options in the final third and should only go for Zaha if they feel he can challenge for a starting XI position.

Likely to happen?

Spurs have been mentioned as suitors for Zaha for a long time and the summer may be the window that he finally makes the move across London.

He has proven himself to be vital for Palace in their fight against promotion and they are not going to let him go on the cheap.
