Everton are going to need another new wave of players in the summer if they are to fulfil their aim of competing for Europe and someone they should be monitoring very closely is Juan Mata.

The Daily Mirror reports that Premier League giants Manchester United are set to axe up to 10 first teamers in the summer and Mata is one of those mooted for a potential exit from Old Trafford.

He has been unable to make a serious impact this campaign with the Red Devils this season as he deals with frequent rotation, but there is no doubt he could make a colossal impact at Goodison Park if given the opportunity.

The 29-year-old is a left-footed genius that can read the game better than most and is a serial winner that would bring some much-needed experience to Everton.

Mata has proven himself to be a phenomenal attacking player during his time in England with spells at Man United and Chelsea, but he is yet to reach his 30th birthday and should be playing regular football.

The Spaniard usually plays out on the right wing where he can cut inside and would definitely make a colossal impact with the Toffees given his football intelligence.

He can be deployed anywhere across the frontline and a fresh move at this stage of his career should breathe new life into him.

Mata has been one of the most underrated players during the Premier League era and Everton should be looking to pull off a masterstoke by signing him if he leaves Old Trafford.

He has the knack of popping up with important goals in big games and has also become renowned for his assists, something that Everton attackers could thrive off.
