Celtic are stalling over whether to sign centre-forward Odsonne Edouard on a permanent deal in the summer, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper claims that the Bhoys are yet to decide if they want to turn the 20-year-old’s stay at Parkead into a permanent one or not.

It is understood that the Scottish giants will have first refusal on the striker if they stump up £7million for him when he returns to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer from his loan with Celtic.

The report details that manager Brendan Rodgers is a big fan of the young Frenchman, but the club will wait until later in the campaign before potentially submitting an offer.

Edouard is currently behind teammate Moussa Dembele in the pecking order at Celtic, but did come off the bench at the weekend to score the winning goal in a 3-2 away win at rivals Rangers.

Good move for Celtic?

Edouard has been the third-choice striker behind Dembele and Leigh Griffiths for the majority of the season, but has certainly still left his mark.

The powerful attacker has eight goals in just 23 appearances and is an important part of Rodgers’ plans.

He is only going to improve as a 20-year-old and could definitely be wroth the gamble at £7million to snap him up in the summer.

Likely to happen?

This potential move is certainly in the balance as Edouard would be willing to stay in Scotland in the long-term, but he will come at a big price to sign on a regular basis from French giants PSG.
