Tottenham Hotspur expected XI v Juventus

|

Hugo Lloris (Goalkeeper) – A clear choice in goal for Pochettino, Lloris is expected to line up between the sticks as usual. Retains his place.

Kieran Trippier (Right-back) – Serge Aurier played at the weekend against Huddersfield, and put in an accomplished display. However, assist king Trippier has shown the more consistent form of the two in recent weeks, and Aurier’s horrific performance in the first-leg means that the England international is expected to deputise for the £23million summer signing. Trippier for Aurier.

Davinson Sanchez (Centre-back) – It was looking like Pochettino may have had a defensive dilemma on his hands with the return of Toby Alderweireld, but the Belgian has suffered a setback in his return from a hamstring injury and Sanchez is therefore expected to start as normal. Retains his place.

Jan Vertonghen (Centre-back) – Vertonghen’s return from an ankle scare v Huddersfield was massively encouraging for Spurs. Expected to retain his place.

Ben Davies (Left-back) – Many would think that Danny Rose is expected back for this one, but Davies’ form recently has been too good to ignore. He also provides more consistency than Rose, and is expected to start such an important fixture. Retains his place.
