Watford boss Javi Gracia has admitted that he is not sure whether reported Tottenham Hotspur target Abdoulaye Doucoure will stay at the club this summer.

As reported by the Daily Star, Tottenham are among several top Premier League teams that are interested in the 25-year-old central midfielder.

Doucoure is having the season of his life at Watford this term, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 28 Premier League appearances.

The former France youth international has now attracted the attention of many of the country’s top sides ahead of the summer window, and manager Gracia has admitted his future is uncertain.

As quoted by the Daily Mail, Gracia said: “I don’t know, I don’t know what happens in the future, whether he will sign a new contract or stay with us a long time, I don’t know.

“I think he is very happy with the team, the supporters, the club, the city. I think he is very happy. I would like Doucoure to stay with us more time.”

OPINION

It is no surprise to see that several top-six sides are interested in Doucoure this summer. The midfielder has consistently impressed for Watford, particularly during the opening half of the season. Much like his sides form, Doucoure has somewhat tailed off in recent months, but the club are showing signs of revival under Gracia, and hopefully Doucoure will begin to do the same. The 25-year-old will certainly not come cheap in the summer, but he will also doubtful cost a massive fee, and that means that there may be a big scrap on for his signature. Tottenham would do well to win that race.
