Liverpool came from behind to beat Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, but fans have taken to Twitter to slam the display of centre-back Joel Matip.

Palace took an early lead when Loris Karius clattered Wilfried Zaha in the box to concede a penalty, with Luka Milivojevic stepping up to slam the spot-kick home.

Liverpool wanted a penalty of their own when Sadio Mane went down under a challenge from James McArthur, but the Senegal international was instead booked for diving.

Palace were leading at the break but Liverpool came out strong in the second-half and drew level quickly, with Mane getting his goal when he turned home James Milner’s brilliant cross.

The Reds dominated much of the second-half but survived two big chances for former star Christian Benteke, who looked well off form.

Man-of-the-moment Mohamed Salah then came up with the winner on 84 minutes as he controlled an Andy Robertson cross before slamming home past Wayne Hennessey.

Despite the win, Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter after the game to destroy the display of 26-year-old centre-back Joel Matip, who looked dodgy alongside Virgil van Dijk.
