Everton’s Kevin Mirallas is unlikely to join Olympiakos on a permanent basis, according to Nieuwsblad.

The Belgian newspaper claim that the 30-year-old winger has been unable to deliver the performances required of him and list him as one of the players unlikely to be at the Greek giants next season.

Nieuwsblad report that Belgian club Standard Liege, who finished sixth in the league during their 2017-18 league campaign proper, are now monitoring Mirallas’ situation.

It is believed that the 30-year-old Belgian international previously asked about the chances of returning to Standard.

Mirallas has made eight league appearances for Olympiakos since joining them on loan from the Toffees in January, but the veteran has only scored once and has failed to register an assist in his outings.

The Greek giants have had a disappointing season and are looking to change things for their next campaign.

Olympiakos missed out on the league title and failed to win a game during this season’s Champions League.

Good move for Everton?

Yes.

Mirallas has not been required at the Toffees for a while now, with his attitude being questioned before he departed the club on a temporary basis in January.

While it’s disappointing that a simple deal with Olympiakos sounds like it won’t be reached, at least another club are interested in giving him a chance.

Likely to happen?

Mirallas started his career at Standard Liege, so it would make sense, that he would be keen to return to the club that first gave him a chance.

The 30-year-old Everton winger’s contract at the club may not expire until 2020, but his career is effectively over with them.

The Toffees will clearly try to secure a permanent exit for Mirallas in the summer in order to get him off their books.
