Everton really need to add Shakhtar Donetsk’s Bernard to their squad in the summer in order to kick-on and achieve the success the club should be aiming for.
The Brazilian international’s contract expires in the summer and according to Globo Esporte he is currently in talks with several English clubs about joining them ahead of next season.
There’s no word on which clubs he is negotiating with, but if you’re an Everton supporter you should be crossing your fingers that it’s your club that is currently in talks with the winger.
Bernard has scored 10 goals, while creating four in the 28 appearances he has made for Shakhtar this season.
The 25-year-old’s stats suggest that he can be the creative spark that the Toffees currently lack in the middle of their midfield.
Bernard has the ability to dance through defenses in the Premier League with his sublime skills and has previous experience that could help take the Toffees to the next level.
The winger, who can feature on either flank as well an attacking midfielder, has regularly played in the Europa League and Champions League and could be vital to inspiring the Toffees in to being able to regularly compete in Europe.
Sam Allardyce’s side have struggled this season to achieve consistently good results and this has caused them to be unlikely to be in European competitions next season.
The Toffees should be aiming to regularly feature in the Europa League at the very least, and having a player like Bernard in their squad will not only help them qualify for the tournament ,but will see them do well in it.
Allardyce’s side have plenty of talented players such as Gylfi Sigurdsson, who would benefit and improve from working with the 25-year-old Brazilian.
Therefore the Toffees must win the race for his signature in the summer as the sensational Brazilian would help them achieve the success that they really should be having, given the talent in their team.
