Arsenal fans slammed Mesut Ozil on social media for his performance against Manchester City on Thursday.
The Gunners lost 3-0 at the Emirates to the current league leaders, and supporters were quick to criticise several players after witnessing their side suffer a heavy defeat.
Ozil was one of the players who received negative feedback for his performance on Thursday, with one fan saying that they were sad every time they saw him now.
While another Gunners supporter shared on Twitter that they believed there was no player capable of being worse than Ozil, when the German couldn’t be bothered to play.
Ozil signed a new contract with the Gunners in January, which sees him earn £350,000-a-week, according to the BBC, and will keep him at the club until June 2021.
Several Arsenal fans questioned the decision to give the midfielder such a high wage after witnessing his woeful performance against Manchester City.
Ozil has made 26 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring five goals, while creating seven.
Arsene Wenger will be hoping the German midfielder is able to put his Manchester City display behind him quickly, as he will no doubt feature against Brighton on Sunday.

Unbelievable that we were so desperate to get rid of Alexis while giving £350k a week to Ozil

Ozil is doing my head in this evening. Haven't seen much of him since he signed. Never been talismanic against bigger sides.
