Arsenal fans on social media were highly critical of Shkodran Mustafi after watching their side crash to a 3-0 defeat courtesy of Manchester City.
The current league leaders cruised to victory at the Emirates, with all three of their goals being scored in the first half.
Bernardo Silva put Man City ahead in the 15th minute, with David Silva doubling Pep Guardiola’s side lead 13 minutes later and Leroy Sane grabbed the final goal of the game in the 33rd minute.
Gunners supporters had a lot of players to moan about as their side were swept aside by Manchester City, but a large majority of fans decided to highlight Mustafi’s performance.
One supporter tweeted that they were actually laughing at the 25-year-old defender now as they simply couldn’t understand how someone could be so bad.
While another fan shared that if they were Arsene Wenger they would send Mustafi to rot in the reserves for the rest of the season.
The centre-back has made 23 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals and creating one.
Mustafi will be hoping to put that performance quickly behind him, as Arsenal are back in action on Sunday.
If Wenger selects the defender to start against Brighton on Sunday, Gunners fans will be demanding that he puts in a better display then he did in Thursday’s game.
