Celtic beat Aberdeen 2-0 in a crucial Premiership clash thanks to goals from Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney, but fans have taken to Twitter to slaughter the display of defender Mikael Lustig.

Swedish enforcer Lustig lined up at right-back against the Dons at Pittodrie, and had a few good moments including a fantastic block on the line when Aberdeen looked certain to score.

However, the 31-year-old had his afternoon cut short just minutes later as he saw a second yellow for a poor challenge on Gary Mackay-Steven, who he had fouled earlier for his first booking.

The game was finely poised at 1-0 at that point, but luckily for Celtic they managed to score again as Kieran Tierney lashed home past Freddie Woodman at the near post to seal the win.

It was an important three points for Brendan Rodgers’ men, who had seen their lead at the top of the table cut to just six points as Rangers beat Hearts 2-0 on Saturday.

Much of the attention after the game turned to Lustig and his poor display, and fans have taken to Twitter to destroy the veteran defender for his errors.
