Rangers came through 5-3 winners in a thrilling Premiership encounter with Hamilton Academical at New Douglas Park on Sunday, and there were several talking points to take from the game.

Six goals were scored in a crazy first-half that started when Hamilton took the lead through Darren Lyon after just five minutes.

Jamie Murphy then scored his first league goal for the Light Blues to bring them level with 10 minutes gone, and they then took the lead through Josh Windass, who has just signed a new contract with the club.

Former Rangers star David Templeton then brought Accies back to parity before Alfredo Morelos and Windass scored two further goals to put Gers 4-2 up at the half.

A much quieter second-half was highlighted by Windass completing a brilliant hat-trick, slotting home from a pinpoint Morelos cross.

Hamilton pulled one back with two minutes remaining when Dougie Imrie converted a penalty, with Russell Martin penalised for handball.

It was a solid win for Graeme Murty’s men, who had been turned over 2-0 by Accies at Ibrox earlier this season, and it showcased their attacking riches at their best.
