Chinese club Beijing Renhe are prepared to offer Alfredo Morelos a mouthwatering contract in order to tempt him away from Rangers, according to Football Insider.

The reliable football news site claim that the Chinese club are willing to offer the 21-year-old a contract that will see him earn in the region of £38,000-a-week after tax in order to get him to join the club.

Football Insider report that after having an £8million bid rejected for Morelos in January, Beijing Renhe are set to return with an improved offer before their transfer windows closes on February 28.

Morelos’ current deal at Rangers sees him earn £7,000-a-week, according to the Daily Record, so this potential new contract would see his wages more than double.

The Scottish Sun previously claimed that mega rich Beijing Renhe were set to hand Morelos a deal which would see him earn £27,000-a-week if the Light Blues accepted their offer to buy the player, but it looks like they’re set to splash even more cash to try and sign him.

The centre-forward has been in tremendous form for the Gers this season, as he has scored 15 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions.

OPINION

If a £38,000-a-week contract isn’t enough to lure Morelos away from Rangers, nothing will. The reported contract offer is more than generous and reflects Morelos’ talent and goalscoring ability. This report is a major worry for Gers supporters as the 21-year-old forward will no doubt be keen to leave if that’s the contract on offer. Morelos’ goals are vital to Rangers achieving success in the near future as his goalscoring antics have been a key reason why they find themselves third in the table this season, and if they want to be serious title contenders next season, they need him. However, there’s no way they can compete with that sort of money.
