OPINION

Celtic host Russian side Zenit St Petersburg on Thursday night in the Europa League and have the quality to stun them with a positive result at Parkhead.

The Bhoys welcome Zenit to Scotland for the first last of their last 32 tie and will start the contest as underdogs.

However, the Scottish champions have pulled off memorable results in Europe over the years and have the quality to take a good result with them to the second leg in Russia.

Brendan Rodgers’ side go into the clash on the back of a shock 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock, but have the character in their dressing room to respond.

They are currently struggling with injuries as the likes of Patrick Roberts, Tom Rogic, Stuart Armstrong, Leigh Griffiths, Dedryck Boyata and Craig Gordon are all expected to be absent from the starting XI.

The Bhoys will need to bounce off the home crowd to try get a win as they will be anticipating a very difficult contest away to Zenit a week later.
