Vertonghen outstanding once again

Spurs ace Jan Vertonghen, 30, once again turned in a fabulous display this season at the weekend and has become a real leader in Pochettino’s side.

The Belgian centre-back has stepped up in the absence of injured teammate Toby Alderweireld and was a rock against Liverpool at Anfield.

He was caught out by a brilliant piece of trickery for Salah’s second goal which had shades of Lionel Messi, but apart from that he delivered an eye-catching display.

Vertonghen has consistently been turning in at least 8/10 performances this season and his reliability in the heart of defence is crucial for the team.
