Sky pundit Tony Cascarino has highlighted a potential weakness of new January signing Lucas Moura and claimed that his partnership with Harry Kane will determine the success of his Tottenham career.
Spurs completed a £23million deal for the right-winger on deadline day as he joined from French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
The attacker is renowned for his blistering pace and will hope to make a serious impact on Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
He is a 35-time capped Brazil international that loves to hog the flank and has the trickery to trouble most full-backs.
Cascarino has discussed Moura’s switch to the north London club and feels there is a chance he could be a great addition to the squad.
However, he has suggested that the attacker must develop a good understanding with key centre-forward Harry Kane and feels a current weakness in his game is that he can be too greedy in possession.
“A really dangerous player — he’s got great attacking talent and provides some pace and flair that Tottenham are sometimes lacking,” Cascarino wrote in his column for the Times.
“The key to his success is if he links well with Harry Kane. The England striker relies on early service and Moura can sometimes keep the ball a little too long.”

Spurs finally got a deal for Moura over the line on the final day of the January window and fans should be delighted about the move. The speed merchant is certainly a different option for Pochettino to use in the final third, with Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen more technical players. Moura should be able to frighten defenders out wide and he has shown in the past he can play at an elite level. The dazzling attacker made 229 appearances during his spell with PSG, scoring 46 goals and supplying 50 assists. HIs career had just stalled slightly and deciding to work under Pochettino at Spurs seems like a great move for the player. It is obviously vital that all incoming players form a great partnership with talisman Kane and there is a possibility that a Moura-Kane combination could be deadly.
