Sandro Ramirez has put his long-term future at Everton in doubt by publicly revealing that he wants to be at Sevilla next season.

The 22-year-old forward is currently on loan at the Spanish club until the end of the season, and has made two appearances for Sevilla since joining them in January.

“I’ve been here two weeks and I want to continue next season at Sevilla,” said Ramirez on Radio Marca, as quoted by Fichajes.

“I’m really where I want to be.”

Ramirez only joined the Toffees in the summer with the club paying Malaga £5.25million, according to Sky Sports, to sign him.

However the centre-forward struggled to make an impact as he scored only one goal in 15 appearances for the club.

Ramirez’s Everton contract still has a significant amount of time left of it with it not expiring until 2021.

OPINION

Ramirez certainly didn’t take long to settle in at Sevilla with him already publicly revealing his desire to stay at the club beyond this season. The 22-year-old’s comments show him to be naive and unprofessional, as he is currently set to return to the Toffees in the summer. It will now be awkward for him to walk back through the doors at Goodison Park, as these comments will certainly get back to the club. It really is disappointing to hear that the 22-year-old is ready to give up on playing in the Premier League, as the forward had plenty of potential upon being signed in the summer.
