Everton fans took to social media to show no sympathy after hearing that Eliaquim Mangala might not feature again this season due to injury.

The Daily Mail reported that the 27-year-old could miss the rest of the campaign due to a knee injury, after sustaining the injury in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Mangala reportedly damaged ligaments in his knee after he fell awkwardly during the game.

The centre-back only moved to Goodison Park in the January transfer window on loan from Manchester City and has made just two appearances since joining.

The Daily Mail’s report shared that Mangala would continue to be monitored by the Toffees medical staff, but the worst case scenario is that the Frenchman will be on the sidelines until next season.

Despite his Toffees’ career potentially being already over before it had hardly begun, supporters weren’t exactly devastated by the news.

One Everton fan said it was a blessing is disguise that Mangala was now ruled out through injury, while another supporter referred to the defender as deadwood.

The Toffees are next in action against Watford at Vicarage Road on February 24, and go into that game sat ninth in the table.
