Arsenal are willing pay £45million to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim that Arsene Wenger has made the 24-year-old attacking midfielder his No1 summer transfer target, and aims to get a deal done before Fekir goes to the World Cup with France.

The Daily Mail report that the French giants would be reluctant to sell their captain but have previously shown that their willing to let their best players go for the right price.

This is proven by the fact Lyon sold Alexandre Lacazette to Arsenal for £52.7m last summer.

Fekir has made 31 appearances this season scoring 21 goals and registering five assists.

Good move for Arsenal?

Yes.

The midfielder is not only young and yet to hit his peak, Fekir is versatile as he is capable of  playing as an attacking midfielder as well as a centre-forward or as a right winger.

The 24-year-old has featured in the Champions League and Europa League during his time at Lyon and has proven his ability to play at the top level.

Fekir would fit perfectly into Arsenal’s team and £45million is not an outrageous amount to pay for such a talented midfielder.

Likely to happen?

It’s definitely possible.

Lyon have shown by selling Lacazette that their willing to listen to offers for their best players, and £45million would no doubt be a tempting amount of money to take for the midfielder.

However given the player’s ability, Arsenal would have to see off a lot of competition for his signature with the Daily Mail’s report even sharing that Real Madrid have previously being linked with making a move.
