Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia has provided an extensive update on his return from injury, posting two videos to Instagram that show him with a ball back at his feet.
The Ivory Coast international has had a torrid time with an ankle injury this season, and has been missing for the Villans since the end of October.
The 28-year-old forward initially injured the ankle last summer before undergoing surgery to correct the issue, and returned to play eight games for Villa between mid-September and late October.
Kodjia then aggravated the injury once again while on international duty with the Ivory Coast, and was forced to undergo more surgery on the complaint.
Villa manager Steve Bruce admitted last month that it was unlikely that Kodjia would return before the end of the season.
The striker, who top scored last season with 19 goals, has now provided a promising update on his recovery, posting two videos to Instagram that show him beginning to work with a ball once again:

OPINION
Kodjia’s update will be a big boost for Villa fans, but it would seemingly remain unlikely that the striker will return before the end of the season. After the injury required two separate surgeries the club will be extra vigilant in making sure that their key man is fully fit before making his return to playing. Kodjia’s absence this season was initially a big miss, but other players such as Scott Hogan and Albert Adomah have begun to step up to the plate in recent weeks as the Villans push for that last automatic promotion spot.
