Toni Martinez completed 120 minutes in the FA Cup third round replay win over Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday night – and the West Ham fans offered mixed responses to his performance on Twitter.

The Hammers went all the way to extra-time with the League One club at the London Stadium and it took a late goal from centre-back Reece Burke to separate the teams.

David Moyes’ side finally broke the Shrewsbury resistance when Burke’s half-volley cannoned in off the underside of the crossbar, while Martinez picked up the assist after finding him unmarked in the box.

West Ham were held to a goalless draw in the first meeting between the two sides and it took a brilliant goal from the Premier League outfit to win the tie.

Martinez is an upcoming centre-forward at the club and was given the chance to lead the line in the FA Cup.

The 20-year-old has been a consistent performer for the Under-23s side and the goalscorer has long been mentioned as a future first-team star.

West Ham fans on social media have been crying out for his inclusion this season and some were delighted with this impact against Shrewsbury, while others feel he struggled.
