West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment that striker Tyler Roberts has completed a deadline-day transfer to Leeds United.
The Yorkshire giants announced on their official website early on Wednesday afternoon that Roberts has signed from the Premier League club and penned a four-and-a-half year contract running until 2022.
Leeds do not disclose the fee paid for the teenager, who turned 19 earlier this month, but it has been widely reported they will pay an initial £2.5million rising to £4million.
United swooped for Roberts as they looked to strengthen a forward line that has struggled for goals either side of Christmas.
The Wales Under-21 international spent the first half of the season on loan at League One side Walsall, where he scored five goals in 19 matches, but his contract at Albion is due to expire in the summer.
Fans of the Midlands club took to social media to express their frustration that a bright academy talent has left the club.

Haven’t seen him much for Albion but been told he’s been on fire while at Walsall

Must be bonkers to let him go

Disappointed in that. Another great prospect leaves.

Miles away from the first team so we have to let him go. Let’s hope he makes it ala Chris Wood.

Safe to say the #lufc fans aren’t overwhelmed by this signing.

Massive shame to see Tyler Roberts leave. Watched him for the U23s last season, it was clear he’d benefited from the L1 loans. Huge potential. Should be a great signing for Leeds. #wba #LUFC

Find myself both relieved and disappointed Tyler Roberts has gone. No chance to see if he is any good but no opportunity to go full Berahino #wba

Remember the uproar when we sold Nabi to Peterborough? Whilst he’s obviously got talent, if Roberts has refused to sign a new deal then move him on. Can’t remember the last time we got rid of someone and it came back to bite us #wba
