Rangers striker and Premiership top scorer Alfredo Morelos is happy at Ibrox and will not leave the club this month, according to his agent.

The 21-year-old Colombian forward was a £1million summer signing from HJK Helsinki, and he has been one of the few new recruits to hit the ground running at Rangers.

Morelos has scored 12 goals in all competitions, including 10 in the Premiership to lead the Scottish domestic scoring charts at this point in the season, reportedly attracting interest from elsewhere.

Agent Jonne Lindblom has now provided an emphatic response to questions over his future. As quoted by the Daily Record, he said: “Alfredo is enjoying his football, he is playing well at Rangers. When a young player is doing well, it is natural there will be interest, but there is nothing to be thinking about at the moment.

“There is nothing going on with Alfredo and it is not something that has even been discussed. Alfredo is enjoying Rangers and he is enjoying his football. Of course, we knew he would score goals in Scotland because that is the type of player that he is. Wherever he goes, he will score goals.

“Alfredo is doing his best, he is a Rangers player, he is happy and that is how it is. Nothing else about the next step has even been discussed. Everything is good right now.”

As previously reported by the Scottish Sun, English Championship side Bristol City are said to be lining up a move for the young goal machine.

The Robins reportedly have money to spend and want to sign Gers ace Morelos in an attempt to boost their bid for promotion to the Premier League.

OPINION

Lindblom’s comments will come as a relief to Rangers fans, who would have been worried by speculation linking Morelos with an Ibrox exit. The diminutive Colombian has been a revelation this season with his goalscoring numbers, and without him the club would be languishing further down the table. There would seem to be no reason for the 21-year-old to leave Glasgow, as he has settled in so well and is still so young. Graeme Murty will now hope he can push on and improve even further, as there is no doubt he could have scored even more goals than he already has this season.
