English Championship side Bristol City are lining up a January bid for Rangers ace Alfredo Morelos, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claims that the Robins have money to spend in the transfer window and want aid their promotion bid as they look to get into the Premier League.

It is understood the Gers first teamer has been lined up as a target by Bristol City, but Graeme Murty will be reluctant to lose one of his star performers.

The report details that the Ibrox outfit would want at least £2million for his signature, double the £1million fee they paid in the summer.

Bristol City are believed to have money to spend in January and are currently fifth in the Championship.

Good move for Rangers?

Rangers simply must not sell centre-forward Morelos in the January window as he has been a key player this campaign.

The Colombian has made a colossal impact at Ibrox since he joined and has 12 goals in 25 appearances so far this season.

Murty has managed to add striker Jason Cummings to his squad this window, but there is no doubt Morelos will continue to be pivotal.

Morelos is also still aged just 21 and his price tag could shoot up if he continues scoring goals at a brilliant rate for Rangers.

Likely to happen?

Rangers surely won’t sanction the exit of arguably their best player this season in January and fans would be distraught if he left for Bristol City.

However, there will be concerns that the English club will be able to table a bid in the region of £2million and leave the player with a big decision.
