Tam McManus has delivered a sparkling Twitter verdict as Rangers look set to secure the signing of Greg Docherty from Hamilton today.

The former Hibs star has described the signing as ‘unbelievable business’ from the Light Blues, for whom Docherty looks set to become their sixth signing of the January window.

McManus emphatically declared that the 21-year-old looked set to be snapped up by an Premier League side, and described the reported £600,000 fee as ‘a steal’.

The player-turned-pundit, who regularly appears on the BBC, delivered his verdict on his Twitter account on Thursday afternoon, pinpointing the moment that he knew Docherty was a star:

As reported by the Daily Record, Docherty is set to complete his move to Ibrox today after arriving for his medical at Auchenhowie this morning.

He will join Russell Martin, Jason Cummings, Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy, and Declan John as new Rangers signings this month.

OPINION

McManus is spot on here. It is a stunning coup to secure the services of Docherty, who has been tearing it up for Hamilton this season. The 21-year-old looks to be the best signing of the lot for Rangers, who have made some serious movements under Graeme Murty this month. The Gers have strengthened in all areas as they look to push Celtic all the way for an unlikely title this year, and they will also be serious contenders for the Scottish Cup.
