Tottenham Hotspur are leading the hotly-contested chase for Hoffenheim attacker Nadiem Amiri, according to Sport Bild

The German newspaper report that Amiri has a release clause in his contract set at £15million, with Arsenal and Manchester United also in the hunt for the 21-year-old dazzler.

Bild claim that Spurs are showing particularly heavy interest in Amiri, who is said to have rejected their advances last summer to sign a new contract at Hoffenheim.

It is said that a summer move is most likely, with Amiri set for several weeks on the sidelines with a foot injury.

Good move for Tottenham Hotspur?

This would be an exciting acquisition for Spurs as they look to provide competition for Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli in attacking midfield.

Amiri is a hard-working forward with sublime skills and devastating long shots.

He has some way to go with regards to his finishing ability and his strength in contact, but he is an upcoming talent that looks set for a German cap very soon.

He has struggled with injury a bit this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in 14 Bundesliga appearances so far.

Likely to happen?

With a release clause of just £15million, it looks certain that Amiri will be on his way soon.

Whether that will be to Spurs is hard to say, but it does seem to be Mauricio Pochettino’s men who are showing most interest.

It looks as though a summer move is the most likely with Amiri currently injured, so it will be interesting to see who lines up for his signature in five months time.
