Everton have shown an interest in 18-year-old Ben Brereton and should up their pursuit in order to create a strike force capable of firing not only England to glory, but themselves in the future.

The Daily Mail report that the Toffees alongside Tottenham and Leicester City regularly scout the £15million-valued Nottingham Forest striker but are yet to make an official move for him.

The newspaper also believe that Nottingham Forest will only consider offers that match their valuation of the centre forward’s huge potential, but this shouldn’t put Sam Allardyce and his team off.

Especially as the longer they wait to make a move, the more expensive Brereton will become as his performances simply get better and better.

Brereton has featured in Forest’s first team since last season and has made 38 appearances in total since making the step up.

For an 18-year-old to have that many senior appearances, in an era where youth system fail to be fully utilised in England, is insane.

The Toffees should prioritise capturing the 18-year-old as they would be able to partner him alongside 20-year-old Dominic Calvert-Lewin for years to come.

Calvert-Lewin has showcased his potential this season as Everton have been forced to utilise the youngster given their lack of striking option.

Despite the Toffees having to rely on the striker, he has stepped up and performed admirably, given fans hope of a bright future with the star.

While the two strikers have only got 10 goals between them this season, that’s merely down to them learning their trade.

Both strikers have showcased on numerous occasions their ability to be ruthless in front of goal and it’s all a matter of learning to be consistent.

This consistency will come from gaining experience and honing in on what are their best attributes to use in order to outwit a defence.

However, even in these early stages of their career, you can imagine an future where they both star for England.

Brereton was the top scorer at the European Under-19 Championships and Calvert-Lewin is already off the mark at Under-21 level, scoring in one of his first five appearances.

By having both players at the club, Everton would potentially have the same impressive strike-force as England for many seasons to come.

It could also means, given both their ages, that Everton have a consistent front-line for many seasons, which sees the two form a deadly partnership.

After having much change up front in recent years, it would be dreamy for the Toffees to have a recognised partnership leading their line.

Therefore, this is why Everton should stop just scouting the striker and hurry up and make a move.
