Tottenham, Everton and Leicester City regularly scout Nottingham Forest centre-forward Ben Brereton, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim that Spurs have been monitoring the 18-year-old, who is valued at the same £15million figure as another Forest academy product Oliver Burke, since he broke into Forest’s first team last season.

The Daily Mail report that Forest do not need to sell their highly-rated prospect for financial purposes, and teams would have to bid a fee worthy of the striker’s potential.

Brereton was a constant thorn in Arsenal’s side on Sunday as Nottingham Forest surprisingly defeated the Gunners 4-2 to eliminate them from the FA Cup.

The 18-year-old had the beating of the much more experienced Per Mertesacker in that game, as several times he was able to go around the defender easily.

The striker grabbed his third goal of the season from the penalty spot against Arsenal, after previously scoring two in 19 appearances.

Good move for Tottenham?

The striker showcased his potential against the club’s bitter rivals on Sunday, and it would be a good move for Tottenham to scoop up one of the Championship most promising talents.

Brereton lived up to his reputation in a high-profile game, however the only reason Tottenham should avoid making a move is if Nottingham Forest slap a ridiculous price on his head.

Likely to happen?

The Daily Mail report dictates that Tottenham have been keeping an eye on Brereton for a while, and with the striker contracted to Forest until 2021, they’ll be in no rush to make a move.

Spurs are a promising prospect to a young talent given Mauricio Pochettino’s reputation to utilise his club’s youth system, and that could give them the edge over other Premier League teams.
