West Brom striker Tyler Roberts has passed a Leeds United medical and is completing the formalities of a deadline day transfer to the club – and fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight.
Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay reported on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that United are closing in on the signing of 19-year-old Roberts.
All looking good with the Tyler Roberts transfer. Medical was done last night and formalities being completed. #lufc

He could be one of two deadline day arrivals at Elland Road as Football Insider claim they are also in talks to sign Forest Green midfielder Jordan Stevens.
Stevens is one for the future, but Roberts is set to go straight into the senior set-up and challenge for a first-team spot.
Leeds have been in the market for a striker in the latter stages of the January window but had appeared set to end the window without strengthening in the key position.
That has changed following the events of the last 24 hours and it now appears that Roberts, who spent the first half of this season at League One outfit Walsall, where he scored five goals in 15 matches, will imminently become a United player.
This has prompted mostly positive comments from Leeds fans on social media, with some claiming him as a real coup, including one fans who claimed the youngster can score the goals to catapult the team to promotion.

Good building block for next season. Hopefully he gets enough game time this season to adjust to Championship.

Main thing making me pleased about this deal (having not seen that much of him personally) is that West Brom fans seem annoyed to lose him. Probably a good sign. #wba #lufc #MOT https://t.co/Gnpl4o5QPA

great bit of business, exciting young talent, don’t understand why people are complaining

Great signing this. West Brom wanting to keep him says a lot about how highly rated he is

Sounds really positive but time will tell if he’s going to hit the ground running or another signing who might come good in a year or two if he gets game time. If it’s the latter that’s not going to help our (almost) lost cause this season. More quality needed and now!
